Disco Fever

December 29, 2010

Anyone else in a glitzy, glammy & shimmery state of mind this week?

New Years Eve Party Decor-Napkin Rings

I must be, because I can’t tear my eyes away from these DIY disco ball napkin rings spotted in the January issue of Martha Stewart. They’re shockingly simple to create, and just in time for New Years Eve… follow the jump for instructions, and be prepared for a dazzling dinner party, sequins mandatory!

**Wrap 2 foam balls with strung sequins, and thread 1/4-inch metallic ribbon through them using a tapestry needle; wrap the ribbon around the napkin, then tuck the smaller ball through to hold it in place. Sew sequins by hand along a runner’s hemstitching for a confetti effect.

I made some of the sequin’d balls for Christmas after seeing them in her magazine! They came out beautiful. I think I’m going to be decorating birthday gifts and packages with them in 2011!
