Tuesday Tastings {Greek Power Breakfast}
Last year, I discovered how delicious (and nutritious) Greek yogurt is, and I’ve been a major devotee ever since. So when I awoke with the sunrise on my first day in Santorini, I couldn’t wait to see if the yogurt in Greece was as creamy & luscious as I imagined. We settled into our table with a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean & opened the menu…
Our breakfast did not disappoint, and I ended up ordering the same spread every day of the trip. The island’s signature “Muesli” was chock full of walnuts, almonds, & bananas nestled in thick creamy yogurt. A platter of fresh melon & berries, crispy toast with jam & steaming cappuccinos provided the fuel we needed for a day of hiking the cliffs & swimming in the sea.
Now that I’m home, I’ve stocked up on Fage & all the fixin’s to recreate my island breakfast. My Greek yogurt addiction has definitely reached new heights…
Fruit & Nut “Greek-Style” Muesli
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (I prefer Fage 2%)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 rough-mashed banana
- 2 tbsp chopped nuts (whatever you like; I prefer a mixture of walnuts & marcona almonds.)
Directions
Mix first 3 ingredients in a bowl. Add banana & nuts. Cover & chill before spooning into bowls.

This makes me want to jet to Greece! What beautiful images.
I will have to try the recipe as well. We only recently started eating Greek yogurt and I am hooked!
